Thanks to everyone for making last year’s cookout a success. Here are some snapshots contributed by Tricia at Buffalo Trace, Thunderado’s Hunter Perrin, and Ross Murray.

SATURDAY, MARCH 19th  – 2011

AUSTIN, TX – High Noon ’til Dusk.

BROOKLYN AND AUSTIN UNITE AT THE MOST OFFICIAL-UNOFFICIAL DAY PARTY AT SXSW!!!

Finally, hipsters and hillbillies come together at last, to eat tacos, kolaches, drink buckets of whiskey, and get down to brass-tacks with some good old fashioned, new-timey music. The 3rd Annual Brooklyn Country Cookout unites emerging roots bands and songwriters from the great states of New York and Texas on two dueling outdoor stages.

We’ll be throwing down in a big backyard at 1506 Eva St. (a stone’s from the Continental Club and Guero’s, just off S. Congress). This event is free and open to the public, whether you’re wearing a fancy sxsw wristband or rubber band (although thick, leather wristbands may be prohibited).

This year’s cookout will feature 2 outdoor stages with music starting promptly at high noon! Food trucks will be parked on the premises selling Tacos and genuine, czech-texan Kolaches!  Brooklyn Brewery beer will flow on tap!  And Buffalo Trace  Kentucky Straight Bourbon will be on hand throughout the day!

Git There!
